→ Arrival

Waking up in the warehouse is extremely uncomfortable. It’s warm, stifling even, and as you open your eyes, you realize two things: you’re somehow standing and you’re not alone. The room is filled with people grouped at its center, and like you, they are blinking into consciousness and wearing similar expressions of confusion and distress. To the left and right there are closed doors, a man and woman at both; their clothing and demeanour are widely different. The left is clearly upper class while the right is lower class. At the top of the room is a stage adorned in red, white, and blue banners with NFFA in block letters so large that it’s visible from the very back. What is the NFFA, you ask? Within minutes, a man that gives off a ‘Republican senator’ vibe steps up to the podium and begins to speak.
Blessed be our New Founding Fathers for letting us Purge and cleanse our souls. Blessed be America, a nation reborn. Hello and welcome to the city. After fifteen successful purges, we are at a standstill. The New Founding Fathers have found a way to bring you here to promote a higher response in participation. Annually, for one night, any and all crime is legal, including murder. Everyone has the right to purge, and in doing so, you become the best you that you can be. During peace times, crime is lower than five percent and United States citizens know true harmony.

The New Founding Fathers have assessed our Annual Purge laws and adjusted them to allow for this unwanted change. In a three month cycle, all citizens will celebrate a time of peace, preparation, and purge. All previous Purge Night guidelines still apply. This will continue until the Nation is no longer in an economic collapse and rising social unrest has been quelled. Blessed Be the Founding Fathers. Blessed Be the Addend.

Each of you must choose. To the left is those who support and will participate in the purge and to the right is those who do not; pro-purge and anti-purge respectively. This warehouse is the only neutral zone in the city, except during Purge Night. Blessed be America, a nation reborn.

Once he steps down, a woman takes his place and explains further, though in a less formal fashion. Everyone must choose. Pro-purge is anyone that will be actively participating - this means murder, specifically, though all other crimes are still allowed. There will be consequences for anyone who chooses the pro side and then doesn’t purge properly. Anyone who is in full support of the purge and completes three successful purges may go home. Those who choose the anti-purge side, anyone that doesn’t want to kill or believe in the NFFA’s right to purge, are not given this same incentive. All are given time to think it out. They can speak to one another for as long as they need. Any unrest will be not be tolerated.

After everyone has chosen, the anti-purge side exit and are picked up in old buses and vans to be taken to old apartment buildings with basic necessities; there is no reception but are told exactly how it is by veteran Purge survivors. They must get a job and earn money to protect themselves during The Purge that cycles every two months. Those who choose the pro-purge side are chauffeured in limousines to fancy hotels with even nicer accommodations and are welcomed with an extravagant party as well as motivation to purge: you have to purge.

→ Keys to a Successful Purge

Crime, year round, is forbidden through a serious of intricate laws and punishment if often severe. Jails have a low population and most are there simply because they are awaiting trial. Murder results in the death penalty. Tossing a gum wrapper on the ground results in a hefty fine and a minimum of five years prison time. Parole no longer exists. If these rules aren't enough to curb crime, then fear of repercussion come Purge night often will.

However, humans are flawed and love to break the rules. They get angry and lash out. On the last day of the second month, a lock technician who works for a housing protection company is fired for calling in sick (his son broke an arm and needed taken to the hospital). On the evening before Purge Night, the technician and others go from mailbox to mailbox in apartments, houses, hotels, mansions, etc. and drop off handfuls of keys. These keys have addresses and names attached. Some find their co-workers residence keys, others their neighbors. The people they hate. Their own. Most won't have the time to alter their locks before Purging. Most won't have the time to consider why this company had so many keys. Will you use a key to unlock your neighbors door? Will you abandon your home and take cover elsewhere?

OOC: For this prompt, no door will be unlocked. Enjoy the chaos.

→ Advertising is a Purger’s Right

Throughout the year - and especially now that there is a two month period of peace and preparation - all citizens are allowed to advertise their needs as is sanctioned by the United States Government by any means; Craigslist, Twitter, Facebook, Reddit, newspapers, the big screens in Times Square, etc. These advertisements may come in many forms, such as a person looking to pay another (with very specific appearance and background) to allow them to purge them. Payments are legal and binding. The purger might request that they kill, torture, and other various acts—all is legal on Purge Night. Advertisements may be as simple as looking for a partner to purge with or someone to help fortify a house or vehicle. There is no limit to what advertisements may be made. It is the right of every citizen. Blessed be America, a nation reborn.

Arrival and settling in:
[ Oh shit.

Of all the places she could've found herself, she just had to find her way into another spot that was kill or be killed. The choice is simple after she listens... At least for her, even if she's creeped out beyond belief. This wouldn't be the first time she'd taken a life. She's been beaten, cut, shot, drilled into, survived surgery without anesthesia, and has watched too many people she's cared about die in front of her. If she could survive 3 Purges, she could get back to home. She could be an asset to the people fighting, earn a place and make herself invaluable to everyone around her thanks to her skills. It just makes sense in the long run. Besides, she wouldn't be in any condition to run if she'd gone against the movement. Even if she can build a new brace before the first Purge.

It takes a little bit of a kick to get moving, her body still not quite sure how it was standing after the abuse it had undergone before arriving - evident by the state of her bruised and still bloodied face... But, she was going to use whatever short burst of energy she had to get out of this building and start working towards getting home. She doesn't bother looking around at the people who are hemming and hawing about their decision just like she doesn't bother to memorize the faces of those who are going the opposite direction. If she could hope for anything, it's that her current physical appearance was enough of an intimidation factor that no one will try to talk her out of it. Even if a closer look shows the puffiness around her eyes showed a weakness.

After all but falling into the limousine and doing a cool drift in and out of consciousness for most of the ride, the arrival at the hotel is a welcome sight. Figures her first time in a fancy vehicle and she wasn't aware for most of it.

It takes some doing to get to the lobby, but once she's there, she just kind of stops and stares for awhile. Whatever pain or anger she was feeling melts away by the sheer feeling of being overwhelmed by her surroundings. She's never been in a place like this, certainly nothing this fancy because fuck Mount Weather. That looked like a garbage dump compared to this. And that's when it all hits. She's no better than the people she'd judged who lived there, who she'd hated for what they'd done to her. She was going to live a good life the months between the Purges at the expense of who knows how many people.

She was no better than any of the people she'd once judged so harshly.

Raven doesn't feel herself sink to the floor, brace clanking somewhat loudly as it connects - not even aware of herself any longer... At least, not until the chill what might've been marble works a shiver down her spine through her fingertips. She rips her had back as though the flooring had bit her, breath coming a little too fast as a weird panic starts to wrap around her like a dark cloud. She'd justified her actions back home because it was a matter of survival. Her thoughts continue to fly at a rapid pace through her mind, the blood pounding in her ears enough to block out most of what was happening around her.

What has she done? ]

Ad after she comes to sort of terms with her new life:
WEAPON/VEHICAL MODIFICATION AND BOMB-MAKING ☠ PRICE NEGOTIABLE

I was the youngest Zero G mechanic back in my world, which means I'm pretty good at what I do. If you have a vehicle or a weapon that needs repair work or modification, I'm your girl. I am also a skilled bomb maker and something tells me explosives might come in handy when the shit hits the fan around here.

Sitting on my ass thinking about this place isn't getting me anywhere. Might as well be productive.

[ Of course, she hasn't actually gotten any orders yet. Not even sure if she'll be able to complete them - if she'll even have the balls to follow through on what's required of her to get back home when the time comes. Carrying the burden of death from one of her explosives or modifications isn't a new feeling, but this is far more personal. So to combat that, she may or may not already be distancing herself from everyone who isn't from her home because to her this is a strict matter or surviving another kidnapping and making sure everyone that matters to her is alive when the Purge night ends. And if she can get a corner on the weapons market, she can possibly develop a safety feature or frequency that disarms that weapon if it crosses paths with someone she's marked as a friend. ]
